Σκηνοθέτες – ταινίες
Στην επιλογή των 500 ταινιών που ακολουθεί, επιχειρείται να δοθεί μία αντιπροσωπευτική εικόνα του παγκόσμιου κινηματογράφου από τις πρώτες ταινίες των αδελφών Lumiere το 1895, μέχρι το «Il sol dell’avvenire», του 2023-2024. Ο κατάλογος αποτελεί μία αρχική βασική ταινιοθήκη, η οποία μπορεί να επεκταθεί ανάλογα με τις προτιμήσεις του καθενός. Η λογική της σύνταξής του ήταν να είναι κατά το δυνατόν πλατύτερος στον χώρο και τον χρόνο, περιλαμβάνοντας σκηνοθέτες από αρκετές χώρες και όπως προείπαμε, από τα πρώτα βήματα μέχρι σήμερα. Επικεντρώνεται επίσης σε αυτό που συνηθίζεται να ονομάζεται «Κινηματογράφος των δημιουργών», χωρίς να λείπουν και αρκετές άλλες ταινίες που έχουν την δική τους ιστορία ή δημοφιλία. Όλες είναι από επιεικώς καλές έως αριστουργήματα, με προσπάθεια να μην υπάρχουν κακές ή αδιάφορες.
Τέλος, μία άλλη παραδοχή είναι, οι πολύ μεγάλοι σκηνοθέτες να αντιπροσωπεύονται με μέχρι 8 ταινίες (με τον αναγκαστικό αποκλεισμό και άλλων εξαιρετικών), οι αρκετά σημαντικοί έως 5 και οι υπόλοιποι από 1 έως 3, ώστε να «χωρέσουν» όσον το δυνατόν περισσότεροι.
Directors and films
In the following selection of 500 films, an attempt’s made to give a representative picture of world cinema from the first films of the Lumiere brothers in 1895, to “Il sol dell’avvenire”, of 2023-2024. The catalog is an initial basic library, which can be expanded according to one’s preferences. The logic of its compilation was to be as broad as possible in space and time, including directors from several countries and, as we said, from the first steps until today. It also focuses on what is usually called “Cinema of creators”, not missing several other films that have their own history or popularity. They all range from indulgently good to masterpieces, with an effort to have no bad or indifferent ones.
Finally, another assumption is that the very great directors are represented with up to 8 films (with the forced exclusion of other exceptional ones), the fairly important ones with up to 5 and the rest from 1 to 3, so as to “fit” as many as possible.
